We Are Penn State

At Penn State Mont Alto, you can be an engaged member of a vibrant campus community. Whether you live on or off-campus, you can get involved in more than 25 student clubs and organizations, including THON (the largest student-run philanthropy in the world), student government, and alternative breaks. We also offer twelve intercollegiate athletics teams, various intramural sports, and dozens of student activities held on campus throughout the year including multicultural events, leadership development programs, guest speakers, and more.

We work together to give back to the University, the communities we serve, and the world, whether that’s through service learning, community services, or our entrepreneurship innovation space, the Mont Alto LaunchBox.

Affordability and Student Aid

We know that the cost of a college education is a major consideration for families. Student aid in the form of educational loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study can help with these costs.

Penn State Mont Alto works with families as much as possible to help students and families meet their needs. More than 40 percent of Penn State Mont Alto students receive at least one scholarship to help with the cost of tuition and 90 percent receive some form of financial aid.

Out-of-state students from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, and the District of Columbia may be eligible for the Discover Penn State Award, which can provide up to $12,000 in the first two years and an additional $14,000 in years three and four.

Live On

Penn State Mont Alto has two residence halls that house 438 students in both traditional and suite-style rooms.

Students residing on campus may be eligible for the LiveOn Student Succes Grant, a unique student financial aid funding opportunity supported by Penn State Housing and Food Services (HFS).

The LiveOn Student Success Grant for eight (8) consecutive semesters equals approximately one year of savings for Penn State-managed campus housing and meal plan, approximately $12,000.
